Grand Challenge – TakeTen in Tayside
Head to heart health training
The Challenge
Stress can worsen illness, reduce daily functioning, and impact overall quality of life- especially for people living with long‑term conditions. TakeTen explores how a simple, accessible app can help individuals self‑manage stress and support their rehabilitation journey.
Our Solution
- TakeTen is a digital training programme designed to help the body recover from stress and build long‑term resilience.
- It supports users by gently retraining the body’s response systems- gradually bypassing the fight‑or‑flight reflex and strengthening the ability to stay calm under pressure. Over time, this improves performance, wellbeing and everyday functioning.
Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE)
TakeTen are working with Alzheimer Scotland, Asthma + Lung UK, and people with lived experience across Tayside – including caregivers – to ensure the programme is shaped by real needs and real experiences. Our work is supported by an NHS Tayside occupational therapist specialising in mental health, who contributes as a voluntary consultant.
