Grand Challenge – HEARTPOD
Smart pods for smarter health: enhancing cardiovascular monitoring
The Challenge
Annual cardiovascular checks are key to reducing stroke and heart attack risk in patients with cardiovascular disease. Staff shortages and rising demand are causing wait times.
Our Solution
- HEARTPOD is a robotic-assisted self-service pod, supporting user technique in taking measurements, and asking health questionnaires.
- It enhances human-robot interactions.
- It will free up clinician time, as they receive the results before an appointment, which will then mean more of the appointment time spent in discussion between patient and clinician.
Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE)
The HEARTPOD team are interested in hearing from you if you would like to take part in co-creation workshops and focus groups, ensuring user needs are met. Whether a current patient, a health and social care professional, or member of the public, contact the Project Lead for how to get involved.
