Amy Connelly
Patient & Public Involvement & Engagement (PPIE) Coordinator
Amy Connelly is the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Coordinator for Tay Health Tech, based at Heriot-Watt University. She leads the development and implementation of the PPIE strategy to ensure public engagement from the project’s earliest stages and to address health inequalities in Tayside. Her role involves collaborating with patients, the public, lay leads, and PPIE colleagues at the University of Dundee, as well as stakeholders across the health and care sectors, to integrate patient and public perspectives within the project.
Amy brings experience in Communications and Marketing from her roles at West Lothian Foodbank, NHS Scotland, and NHS England, where she worked with vulnerable communities. She previously led engagement for a project in Dumfries and Galloway to gain insights into patient experiences with health and social care since the pandemic. Passionate about community engagement, Amy strives to amplify public voices and use evidence-based decisions to drive fairer care. She is enthusiastic about the future of healthcare and the potential of medical technologies to benefit both patients and healthcare workers.
“I aim to advocate for patients and the public by integrating their lived expertise into research, ensuring that we co-produce evidence-based outcomes that are inclusive and beneficial for all.”
