
Sandy Cochran

Sandy Cochran has been working in medical device research and commercialisation for more than 30 years. He holds B.Sc., M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K. He is Professor of Ultrasound Materials and Devices with the Centre for Medical and Industrial Ultrasonics, School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, UK, having previously held posts in engineering, physics, and medical schools at other Scottish universities.
Sandy’s research interests include ultrasound materials, devices and systems for diverse applications. Topics of current interest are miniature devices for imaging within the body and devices for ultrasonic surgery and acoustic tweezing. He is a Fellow of the U.K. Institute of Physics. He has published more than 300 papers in journals and conference proceedings and more than 20 book chapters and patents and has delivered more than 200 other presentations.
